Mr. Jagadeesh Puthiyandi, Service Engineer of United Motors & Heavy Equipment along with Mr. Robert Burns received the award from His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA as the “Best Employee Laborer of a Contractor”.
Mr. Jagadeesh Puthiyandi is working as Service Engineer with UMHE-MAN Truck Service for 12 years (6 Years in MAN Bus Service-RTA). He has a lot of HSE contributions which help the team to eliminate risk and prevent injurieswhile working. He has designed a solution to increase the life of Hyd-Pump on MAN buses by designing a bracket to eliminate the vibration, saving MAN Company from costly spare parts replacement. All these were accomplished by the effort put in by the UMHE MAN Bus Service Team headed by Mr. Selva Kumar along with the HSE team.

UMHE was able to achieve this award due to the cooperation, contribution and commitment shown by the Top Management, UMHE MAN Bus Service Team and other Departments towards the EHS requirements. This award speaks about the high HSE standards being maintained in DBA/UMHE. DBA/UMHE actively participates in all programs set up by the RTA for continual improvement of the system.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) 6th Cycle Safety Awards 2014 mainly focuses on inspiring RTA’s Stakeholders to play proactive and constructive roles to enhance Safety throughout all RTA operations. These awards aim to raise safety awareness for stakeholders, and will encourage everyone to adopt the best health, safety and environment practices and ensure compliance with the applicable standards and legal requirements. There are eight main categories defined for the 6th Cycle of RTA Safety Awards in 2014. These categories include the Best Safety Consultant, the Best Safety Contractor, and The Best Employee Laborer of a Contractor, the Best Valued Partners of RTA, the Best RTA Health, Safety and Environment Team, the Best Safety Initiative in RTA, the Best Safe Public Transport Driver and Best Safe Maintenance Team in RTA.
